We passed some pretty impressive ice sheets on the way to Banff from Jasper... we were watching the thermometer on the van drop steadily as we approached them... we seriously dropped 12 degrees in a matter of a couple miles - CRAZY! (the temperature slowly returned to "summer" as we left them behind us... it was something else).
