I just got more and more awed as we drew closer to the actual mountains... the road got hillier and hillier (is that a word?)... and I just kept getting more excited at the surroundings...taking pictures through the windshield and hanging my arm out the window for better shots ;) I'm sure the people who live near these gorgeous vistas all the time just take them for granted... but I admit it: I'm a geek. I'm a prairie girl and I think the mountains are just so darn pretty! Wow.
